Link Building Builds Business
Links can be confusing – Let me help demystify some of the terms and explains the reasons for LINKS and their value.
Does it make sense to link other business’ content on your website? We spend our days working hard to earn our dollars while we slowly walk through a complicated maze of internet do’s and dont’s. Most of us built a website out of increasing pressure to have web presence. Some of us have web gurus – others have their web savvy kids or some distant uncle who knows a little about “the internet”.
So what is link building?
Link building [in simplest terms] can increase the number of high-quality links pointing to and from a website – in turn increasing the likelihood of website ranking in search engines. This is where all the “SEO Content Management Super Specialists with loads of know-how sell you tons of Meta-Tags”. It is true – those meta tags and key words are the link building blocks that help those search engines seek you out – but unlike a heat seeking missile whose mission is to search and destroy, they actually bring you business and real people to see your real products and services.
Link building is a proven marketing tactic for increasing brand awareness. And for those of you that believe you are helping your competition – sorry to tell you this ….
THE COMPETITION IS ALREADY ONLINE AND YOUR CUSTOMERS KNOW THAT!
A very useful type of link is a resource link. This link can be a one-way or two-way link – and in the formative years of the internet – were primarily referred to as “navbars” (although they were still hyperlinks). Now these are more commonly known as [hyper]links to a website or specific webpage containing content believed to be beneficial, useful, relevant to the visitors of a website.
In recent years, these resource links have grown in importance because most search engines have made it clear – Your site needs “QUANTITY< QUALITY<RELEVANT LINKS” to count towards your ratings!
Add your website URL to sirte service enginces like Google + or LinkedIn and to your social media pages. Have a referred vendor you deal with? Add their URL to your site and ask them to include ou on theirs. There are many options and ultimately takiing a few miinutes and doing an inventory of your “searchability” is essential.
